Why your ad was blocked by Meta
If platform shows a blocked status on your campaign, it means Meta has rejected or restricted one or more of your ads during the review process. The campaign stops spending until the issue is resolved.
How to see the status in Platform
Open the campaign in the Advertise tab and check the campaign charts area. A blocked or rejected campaign will show a status badge indicating the issue. The app surfaces this as soon as Meta reports it.
How to find out why
The specific reason for the block comes from Meta, not Platform. To see the full rejection reason and take action, go to your Meta Business Support Home:
- Go to facebook.com/business-support-home/
- Find the flagged ad account or campaign.
- Review the rejection reason — Meta explains which policy was triggered and which specific ad was affected.
Common reasons Meta blocks ads
- Policy violation in the creative or copy — exaggerated claims, before/after imagery, restricted health or financial language
- Restricted categories — ads related to credit, employment, housing, or political content require special setup (Special Ad Categories)
- Landing page issues — the destination URL is broken, doesn't match the ad's offer, or contains restricted content
- Missing disclosures — certain categories require specific disclaimers that Meta checks for
- Account-level restriction — if your ad account has a history of violations, Meta may block new ads proactively
What to do next
Once you've identified the reason from Business Support Home, either edit the ad to comply with Meta's policies and resubmit, or submit an appeal if you believe the rejection was a mistake. If the issue is at the account level rather than the individual ad, see Fix common permission and access errors.
For restricted categories (finance, housing, employment): make sure the correct Special Ad Category is set on the campaign before relaunching — without it, Meta will block the ad again even after edits.
