Why your ad has no data or metrics

Seeing zeros on a campaign you just launched — or no conversion data on a campaign that's spending — are two different problems. Here's what's likely happening and what to do.

The campaign just launched — no data yet

This is the most common reason. After you publish a campaign, the ad platform (Meta, Google, etc.) reviews it before it starts delivering. This review typically takes a few hours. During this window, impressions, clicks, and spend will all show zero — that's expected, not a problem.

If your campaign was launched in the last few hours and shows no data, wait it out. Check back after 24 hours. If spend is still zero and the campaign status is active, see My ad isn't spending — what's wrong?

The campaign is spending but shows no conversions

This is a separate issue — and a common source of confusion. Your campaign is running and getting clicks, but the conversions column stays at zero. This almost always means your pixel isn't tracking correctly, not that the campaign is failing.

What to check:

  • Is your pixel installed on the right page? The pixel needs to fire on your thank-you page, confirmation page, or wherever a completed conversion actually happens — not just your homepage.
  • Is the correct pixel connected to this campaign? If you have multiple ad accounts or pixels, confirm the right one is linked to the campaign in Plai.
  • Has the pixel fired before? Go to Connect Accounts → Pixels and check whether the pixel shows any recent activity. If it's never fired, it either isn't installed or isn't triggering on the right event.

Don't pause or turn off a campaign just because conversions show zero. If clicks and reach look healthy, the campaign may be working — you're just not seeing the results yet because tracking isn't set up correctly.

Use Meta's Pixel Helper browser extension or Google Tag Assistant to verify your pixel is firing correctly on the conversion page before concluding the campaign isn't working.
