Set up Optimize for Me

Optimize for Me is an AI feature that analyzes your campaign's performance and automatically adjusts your audience and creatives to improve results over time. You turn it on per campaign, and it runs daily in the background.

Plus plan and above. Available for campaigns running on Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and Google Search only. Not available for Google Performance Max, Google YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Spotify, or Bing campaigns.

Before you begin

  • Optimizations take at least 7 days with real data to issue modifications. Optimize for Me needs performance history to make decisions.
  • Your plan is Plus or above. See Understand your plan and what's included to confirm.
  • Brand context is set up for this workspace. Optimize for Me uses it when rewriting ad copy. See Set up brand context.

Steps

  1. Open the Advertise tab from the top navigation.
  2. Click on the campaign you want to optimize. It must be a Meta or Google Search campaign.
  3. Find the Optimize for Me toggle in the campaign detail view and switch it on.
  4. Review what Optimize for Me will do for your campaign type:
    • Google Search: Will remove underperforming keywords and locations from your audience, and rewrite ad headlines based on your top performers and brand context.
    • Meta: Will adjust audience demographics and locations, rewrite primary texts and headlines, and remove underperforming images or videos from your ad rotation.
  5. (Meta only — optional but recommended) Set up the Creative Bank:
    • Click Creative Bank in the Optimize for Me panel.
    • Upload your pre-approved creative assets:
      • Up to 50 images
      • Up to 50 videos
      • Up to 200 primary texts and headlines
    • When Optimize for Me removes an underperforming creative, it will automatically replace it with an asset from the Creative Bank instead of leaving a gap. This keeps your ad rotation full and gives the algorithm more to work with.
  6. Save your settings. Optimize for Me will run its first analysis on the next optimization cycle.

Expected result

After enabling Optimize for Me, you'll see an optimization timeline inside the campaign — it shows which stage of the optimization process you're in, with actionable recommendations. You'll also see a per-asset breakdown tab with performance data for each image, video, headline, and primary text, plus a log of changes made.

Most campaigns see the first optimization actions after 7-14 days of collecting data. If the campaign is performing well, the optimization cycle will be skipped so as not to risk damaging the performance.

Common issues

  • Optimize for Me toggle is grayed out: Your plan may not include this feature (Plus and above required).
  • Only available for Meta and Google Search: Optimize for Me does not appear for other platform types. If you don't see it, confirm the campaign is running on one of those two platforms.
  • Creative Bank not accepting uploads: Check file formats. Individual file size limits apply based on Meta's specs.
  • No changes happening after 7 days: The campaign may need more data or may already be performing within optimal ranges. Check the optimization timeline for status details.
