Pause or unpause a campaign

Stop a campaign from spending without deleting it, or resume a paused campaign and put it back into delivery.

Who this is for

All users with at least one published campaign. Available on all plans.

Pause a campaign

  1. Go to the Advertise tab from the top navigation bar.
  2. Find the campaign you want to pause.
  3. Click the first toggle on the left (green) to pause it.
  4. The toggle should turn grey, this means the campaign is paused.
Spend stops immediately. The campaign and all its data are preserved — nothing is deleted.

Pausing resets the learning phase. On Meta and TikTok, if a campaign was still learning (fewer than 50 conversions), pausing and resuming will restart the learning phase. This can temporarily increase costs when you resume.

Unpause a campaign

  1. Go to the Advertise tab.
  2. Find the paused campaign (filter by status Paused if needed).
  3. Click the first toggle on the left (grey) to unpause it.
  4. The campaign will go back into delivery — it may take a few minutes for spend to resume as the platform re-enters the ad auction.
If you're planning to make changes to a campaign before resuming it, pause first, make your edits, then unpause. This prevents the campaign from spending during the edit window.

What happens to historical data

All historical spend, impressions, clicks, and conversion data is preserved when you pause or unpause. Pausing does not reset your campaign metrics — only the learning phase can be affected.
