Connect Google Ads to your Business Profile (location assets)
Linking your Google Business Profile to your Google Ads account lets you add location assets to your Search ads — showing your address, phone number, and a map pin directly in the ad. This is useful for local businesses driving foot traffic or calls.
Who this is for
Businesses with a physical location or service area who want to show their address and phone number in Google Search ads. Requires a verified Google Business Profile.
Before you begin
- A verified Google Business Profile — manage at business.google.com
- Admin access to your Google Ads account
- Both accounts must be linked to the same Google account, or you must have manager access to both
How to link your Google Business Profile
This is done directly in Google Ads — not inside this platform. Once linked in Google Ads, location assets will automatically be available when creating campaigns.
- Go to ads.google.com and sign into your account.
- In the left sidebar, click Assets (previously called Extensions).
- Click the + button and select Location.
- Choose Use a location from a Business Profile account.
- Select the Google Business Profile you want to link. If it doesn't appear, make sure both accounts share the same Google login or request access.
- Click Save.
Location assets are now linked. When running Search ads, your business address and phone number can appear below the ad headline. Google determines when to show them based on relevance and ad rank.
Location assets improve click-through rates for local businesses — they give users more reasons to click and reduce friction by showing proximity. They're particularly effective for service-area businesses (plumbers, dentists, restaurants) running local Search campaigns.
Google controls when location assets show. Even after linking, location assets won't appear on every impression. Google shows them when they're predicted to improve performance and your ad rank is sufficient.
