Connect a client Facebook ad account with Linkbridge

Linkbridge lets you connect a client's Facebook ad account to your agency workspace without asking the client to give you direct admin access to their Business Manager. You send the client a secure link — they click it, authorize access, and their account is connected.

Who this is for

Agency users who need to connect a client's Facebook ad account to a client workspace. Linkbridge is designed for situations where the client controls their own Business Manager and you don't have (or don't want) direct admin access.

Before you begin

  • A client workspace must already be set up in your agency account
  • The Agency workspace needs to be connected to the facebook account where the destination Business Portfolio is located
  • Your client must have ac Facebook account with admin access to the assets they want to share (Facebook page, ad account, Pixel)

How to connect using Linkbridge

  1. Open the agency workspace (default workspace).
  2. Go to Brands → Connected accounts and check that the proper Facebook account is connected.
  3. Head over to Agency → Linkbridge, and select the Business Portfolio you want to use as destination for the clients assets
  4. Copy the generated link and send it to your client — via email, WhatsApp, or however you communicate with them.
  5. The client clicks the link, logs into their Facebook account, and approves the connection.
  6. Once they authorize it, the ad account appears as connected in the client workspace. You'll typically receive a notification or see the status update in the workspace.

The client's Facebook ad account is now connected to their workspace. You can create and manage campaigns on their behalf without needing to log in as them or be added to their Business Manager.

Linkbridge gives access at the asset level, not the Business Manager level. This means you can manage campaigns in the specific ad account, page or pixel shared, but you won't have access to other Business Manager assets unless those are explicitly shared.

If the client has trouble authorizing

  • Make sure they're logged into the correct Facebook account — the one with admin access to the ad account
  • Ask them to try in a desktop browser rather than on mobile
  • If they see a permissions error, they may not have the correct role on the Business Manager — they need to be an Admin or Advertiser on the specific ad account
